On 94-06-10, the writer had the opportunity to speak with
an individual who was heavily involved in smuggling activities in this
area. Subject was associated to Joe Lyne some time ago and most
recently was driving for Armand Levreault of the Glenora area.
Subject offered the following:
Joe Lyne of Manitou's area was recently ill with a type of
cancer and his deliveries were being made by his son, Jody. Joe has
a machine shed on his property which has a dirt covered hidden hole.
This hole will hold in excess of 100 cases and was stumbled on to by
source. When Lyne is making his deliveries, he uses a low bed
trailer which has a hidden compartment therein. Joe will usually
throw on a few fence posts or alfalfa bales to disguise the operation.
Both Marcel Desrochers and Armand Levreault are involved
in smuggling operations and at one time worked in harmony with each other.
They are no longer friends as Desrochers took a 100 case load to one of
Levreault's customers in Winnipeg and kept all the money. Desrochers
may own a 1/4 section of land along the
