Jake was born in Morden, Manitoba, where he presently
resides with his wife Fran after having farmed for 31 years in the
Snowflake district.

1993: Elected as a Reform Party of Canada Member
representing Lisgar-Marquette.

1997: Re-elected as a Reform Party of Canada Member
representing Portage-Lisgar.

1999: Independent Member of Parliament representing
Portage-Lisgar.
Jake has been actively involved as a Member of the
Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food and, at the invitation of
the Agriculture Minister, Jake participated in a number of agriculture
forums including the most recent Canada/US Trade & NAFTA Forum in
South Dakota. At the request of the Trade Minister, Jake also
participated in a number of trade missions involving agriculture. |
